Spirulina Rose Matcha Balls

There is nothing better than a simple healthy snack to satisfy that hunger. These Spirulina Rose Matcha Balls are tasty and packed with so much fiber, protein, and antioxidants.

What’s great about energy bites is you can make a big batch and store them in the freezer and fridge. Storing a handful during each batch is great for saving on those days when you don’t have anything healthy to snack on.

These Spirulina Rose Matcha Balls were created after my infamous Spirulina Rose Matcha Lattes that I make EVERY SINGLE MORNING. If you follow me on Instagram, then you know I’m pretty obsessed with spirulina and matcha because they have so many healing benefits and immune-boosting properties. Here’s what they are.

Favorite Matcha is THIS one.

Spirulina Benefits?

Spirulina is a nutrient packed organism that grows in either fresh or salt water. It provides as much protein as an egg and is loaded with a ton of antioxidants and essential amino acids. Studies have shown that it reduces the risk of allergies, high blood pressure, cancer, anemia, and can even improve gut health, boost energy and your mood.

Matcha Benefits

Matcha contains caffeine but its different than the caffeine you consume through coffee and it has two beneficial components: 1) L-theanine which lessens the impact of its caffeine and calms the body while promoting relaxed awareness, increases cognitive performance and increases your mood. 2) It contains Catechins, which contains antioxidants like vitamins E and C. It also helps promote periodontal health by reducing inflammation, preventing bone resorption, and limiting the growth of certain bacteria associated with periodontal diseases.

Other health benefits include detoxifying effectively and naturally all while being packed with antioxidants. It’s also anti-aging (protects the skin from free radicals), supports the immune system, prevent cardiovascular diseases (green tea keeps blood pressure down by repressing angiotensin which leads to high blood pressure. What else do is do? It helps prevent liver disease, diabetes (improves lipid and glucose metabolism and prevents a sudden increase in blood sugar level), Alzheimer’s, arthritis (protects the cartilage by blocking the enzyme that destroys cartilage), and cold & flu, lowers stress, and cancer.

These Spirulina Rose Matcha Balls have the sweet crunch from the freeze-dried strawberries added right at the end. You can definitely use freeze-dried raspberries if you prefer. Also, if rose is not your jam, omit it. Feel free to swap cashew butter for any nut butter of choice.
