Figs only are in season for a short amount of time and when they’re in, I am in Fig heaven. They are high in natural sugars and soluble fiber. They’re rich in minerals including potassium (may counteract the urinary excretion of calcium caused by high salt diets), calcium (a mineral that is involved in bone density), magnesium, iron, and copper and are a good source of antioxidant vitamins A and K that contribute to health and wellness.

I would say figs are pretty darn nutritious and such a magical fruit with so many benefits. There are also so many ways you can eat and use figs in recipes. So, if you haven’t tried them yet, next time you’re at the store, grab some and enjoy!

To make these are simple. I melt my chocolate by mixing them with a little orange blossom water and coconut oil. You can either microwave them to melt or simply use a double boiler. I warmed up some water in a small pot and added a small bowl right on top to act as my double boiler and it worked perfectly.

If you don’t have orange blossom water on hand, feel free to zest a little bit of fresh orange zest and add a little bit of the orange juice for that orange flavor. Orange and chocolate are just an amazing flavor combo that it’s almost a crime to not pair the two LOL… I buy my orange blossom water at Whole Foods but you can also find it HERE.

Use any figs you like and find as long as it’s fresh. I used a variety that I found at the grocery store the other day. Slice them in half, dip them in the chocolate, and then dip them again into the chopped pistachios. Then place them on a baking sheet and sprinkle a little salt. YUM! Place them in the fridge for at least 20 minutes to harden.

To store, keep them in an air-tight container in the fridge for about 4-5 days. I doubt they’ll last that long though. They’re perfect for any little get-together and look so gorgeous to serve.
