Looking for a tasty way to get your healthy dose of omegas? Try these delicious Lemon Caper Salmon Burgers.
I love salmon and luckily, my boys enjoy it as well. We eat it baked, grilled, and with all types of seasonings. But my boys love anything that looks like a burger and these right here, are a winner. They are gluten-free, dairy-free, and paleo!
I call these salmon burgers simply because they’re formed large like a burger patty. But if you wanted more of a “crab cake” style, simply form smaller patties. When they’re smaller, they would make for some great budget-friendly appetizers.
No salmon burger or salmon cake can be served without a tasty sauce am I right? This lemon caper dill sauce compliments this dish so well and really brightens everything up. Made with plain coconut yogurt to make it dairy-free but you can use mayo if you’d like.
Ingredients
- Salmon
- Dill
- Capers
- Lemon zest and juice
- Egg
- Dijon
- Cassava flour
- Coconut yogurt
- Shallot
Here’s how to make it
I use my handy dandy food processor. I start by blending the salmon just for about 3 seconds. Then, add in the remaining salmon ingredients EXCEPT for the 1/3 cup cassava flour and blend it for about 5-6 seconds or until combined.
Next, form the patties, dip them into the remaining cassava flour, and cook in a skillet for about 4 minutes per side. Easy peasy right?! I served mine with a delicious sautéed lemon garlic kale.
