This delicious Arroz con Carne meal is a family favorite dish that’s quick and easy to whip up.
Arroz con Carne has been something my husband actually grew up eating as a child. His dad, who wasn’t much of a cook, had a few dishes he would make when he had to and one of them was this delicious Arroz con Carne dish. I remember him making it for us one night and it was amazing.
Now, I did have to add my own spin on this meal by adding some veggies of course LOL. Peas have been my go-to veggie for this meal and it’s so good. If you don’t like peas, I think spinach or curly kale would be great in here as well. I also loved the idea of adding some Spanish or pimento-stuffed olives in her for a salty tang.
How to make it
This dish couldn’t be simpler. Simply sautĂ© your onions and garlic and add the meat. Ground it up and season in well. Add in the remaining ingredients and cook for a few minutes and serve over rice.
The meat sauce is actually paleo, Whole30, gluten-free, and dairy-free if served without the rice. If rice wasn’t an option, cauliflower rice would be great or serve with a side salad or veggies. You can also serve this with quinoa or any grain of choice.
