My baby turned 2! As you probably already know, kids parties are my life! I enjoy planning everything out way in advanced, keeping a notebook on hand with everything I want to do, the menu, list items I need to buy, etc…They are so fun to plan. Nothing gets me more ramped up than planning a party.

We’ve had our fair share of house parties, and although they are easy to plan, mess and the cleaning up can be exhausting. So we decided to have the party at Play Street Museum where the kids have a whole room of different activities for them to run around in and I still get to do my table decor (my faves). Plus no clean-up, no cake cutting, nothing. I can mingle with the parents and friends while the onsite coordinator does it all.

Deciding what and how I wanted to decorate the party was actually pretty easy this time around. I knew I wanted the theme to be a construction zone theme for years because we have so many diggers, bulldozers, and dump trucks throughout the house. Luckily for me, Hobby Lobby actually had most everything you see in the pictures. I even relied on Pinterest for inspiration as well as Amazon for decor ideas.

Now on to the fun part…the party details:

For the Food:
This year we kept things very simple. We ordered pizza and all I had to do was take care of the snacks. In the past, I would make most everything from scratch which was awesome but also exhausting. So I kept a lot of the food extremely simple this time around.

Wet Paint: This was so easy. I bought ready made and pre cut Rice Krispies treats as well as the yellow and red melting chocolate. All I did was melt the chocolate and dip half of the treats in the chocolate and add on parchment paper to dry. I did this the day before that way on the day of, all I had to do was add the popsicle sticks.

Cake: I always get my cakes at this local place called Market Street because they’re sooo tasty and they always do a great job with the  design and details. We also did cupcakes with orange and yellow frosting.

Wrecking Balls: I bought cheese balls and poured them into a clean dump truck. It looked so cute having it pour out into a bowl.

Logs: I had some bulldozers that we got from Pottery Barn a few years ago that I added pretzels sticks on as the logs.

Rubble Popcorn: I bought yellow cutout cups and poured in the Pirates Booty cheddar popcorn inside.

Fruit Bowls: I served up Strawberries, blueberries, and cantaloupe in these adorable tire bowls. These tire bowls are a MUST if you have boys into cars. I get so many compliments on them year after year.

Tool Box: My kids have a tool box that I used to hold all the plasticware, napkins, and additional plates.

Place cards: I found these cute place cards from Amazon and wrote “Rubble Popcorn” “Logs” for the pretzels, “Wrecking Balls” for the cheese balls, and “Wet Paint” for the Rice Krispy treats.

Goody Bags

I found the gift boxes from Hobby Lobby and filled them with some goodies I got from Amazon. I couldn’t find the exact gift box on Hobby Lobby;’s website so I included another option below. But if you go to the actual store, it should be there in the construction themed party section.

Table Runners: I bought these runners from hobby lobby and they are so perfect. They are not a plastic cheap material and cost $5 each. The best part is, if they are not too dirty, just wipe it off and reuse for another party if needed.

Orange Cones: I bought a few of these at Hobby Lobby but you can really by these anywhere such as Amazon, Target, Michaels, Walmart, etc..

Hard Hats: Another winner from Hobby Lobby. You can buy the hat’s for $1 each along with the stickers to add on the front. Super cute to add as an additional goody bag take-away.

Plates: Found my plates and dessert plates at Hobby Lobby but again, you can buy them just about anywhere.
