This Triple Chocolate Chia Seed Pudding is the perfect healthy breakfast! Packed with fiber, protein, and antioxidants, this will keep well fueled and satisfied all morning long.
The perfect grab-and-go breakfast or make-ahead meal to start the day would be a chia seed pudding hands down. You can use a variety of flavors, add a small handful of greens, add nut butter for protein, or anything else your heart desires. Plus, starting your day with one of these chia seed puddings will really get your day and blood sugar off to the right start because it has a combo of healthy fat, protein, and fiber.
I love to personally make these chia seed puddings twice a week for the boys and me. You can make a double batch for it to last the week making breakfast quick, easy, and simple. I like to top my pudding with raw nuts, hemp seeds, and sliced fruit. For this one, in particular, bananas and raspberries taste amazing with the hemp seeds. For nuts, I like walnuts, macadamia, or pecans. YUM!
Ingredients and Substitutes
- Chia Seeds: they come in white or black and either one works perfectly in here.
- Almond milk: I used almond milk or sometimes even coconut milk in here but any milk you prefer would taste great. I love to also make and use pumpkin seed milk for a nut-free option.
- Vanilla: you can use vanilla extract or even vanilla paste.
- Cinnamon: one of my favorite spices with so many health benefits.
- Maple Syrup: I add a touch of maple syrup to sweeten it up. You can also use honey.
- Chocolate Protein Powder: I like the brand Truvani
- Cacao Powder– NOT cocoa powder…totally different
- Cacao Nibs
- Walnuts and Hemp Seeds for topping
