A delicious spin on a classic avocado toast, this Tomato Basil Mozzarella Toast with truffle oil takes flavors to the next level. It’s modified gluten-free and vegetarian.
I love avocado toast. In fact, I eat them at least 3-4 days a week. But sometimes I like to switch it up a bit with the flavors and textures. This Tomato Basil Mozzarella Toast is loaded with that.
I mainly eat gluten-free but I was in the mood for a real sourdough sliced bread and listened to my cravings. But, you can simply make this with any gluten-free bread of your choice. I also LOVE Coco Bakes gluten-free and vegan sourdough bread. They’re based out of L.A. but deliver if you’re looking for a great option.
Ingredients
- sourdough bread
- avocado
- lemon
- tomatoes
- basil
- mozzarella
- microgreens
- flaky sea salt
- garlic clove
- black truffle oil
To Make:
The bread is rubbed with fresh garlic, then topped with the creamy and healthy fat of the avocados. Top it with some juicy tomatoes, freshly torn mozzarella, and fresh basil. Then for the showstopper….you ready?! Black Truffle Oil. Oh yeah, I did. You need flaky sea salt always to finish the whole thing off.

Tomato, Basil, Mozzarella, Toast With Truffle Oil
Ingredients
- 2 slices of sourdough bread or gluten-free bread
- 1 avocado
- 1-2 heirloom tomatoes sliced
- 1 garlic clove smashed and halved
- small mozzarella balls lightly torn.
- fresh basil for garnish
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- salt and pepper
- drizzle of black truffle oil
- microgreens for garnish
- flaky sea salt for garnish
Instructions
- On the toasted sourdough slices, take the garlic and rub both pieces of bread with the flesh of the garlic.
- Add the avocado and mash with a fork. Drizzle a little lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
- Top with the sliced tomatoes and mozzarella cheese.
- Sprinkle with basil and microgreens.
- Drizzle with a little black truffle oil and flaky sea salt.
- Enjoy!
