Summer Melon Board

Summer is right around the corner and with the temps on the rise here in Dallas, I was craving something hydrating, light, and delicious. Here you’ll find my Summer Melon Board.

This is my summer take on a cheese board. You got your sweet and salty combo that makes makes this so perfect for pool parties and hosting BBQ’s at the house.

Who can beat that prosciutto wrapped in cantaloupe flavor. It was something I craved and ate all throughout Italy and Croatia. Those flavor combos are spectacular is you’ve never had it. But I made sure to leave some without the meat for those who don’t like it.

Herbs! Always add herbs at the end to spruce it up. That feta cheese with basil or mint is so refreshing. Now, let’s talk that lime and tajin. This is the Mexican in me…I know, it’s somewhat of an Italian board with a Mexican flavor. Squeeze some lime and tajin on your melons and be prepared to become obsessed.

If you strolled through the streets in Mexico, you’ll fins street vendors selling fresh fruit with lime and Tajin sprinkled right on top. It’s so good and something I recommend trying.

Side Note: This is the Tajin that I use and love.

Summer Melon Board

Refreshing Summer Melon Board Perfect for wamr weather entertaining

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 watermelon sliced into triangles
  • 1/2 cantaloupe peeled and sliced into wedges
  • 1/2 honeydew peeled and sliced into wedges
  • Feta Cheese
  • Manchego Cheese
  • Mint and basil
  • a mix of your favorite cured meats: Proscuitto salami, soppressata
  • 2 limes cut into wedges
  • Tajin optional

Instructions
 

  • On a cheese board, arrange all the melons. On the cantaloupe, wrap a few with the prosciutto.
  • Individually fold each of the curred meats and arrange nicely around the fruit.
  • Add the cheese. Be sure to slice and few and cube a few to make it look pretty.
  • Add some sliced lime wedges for people to squeeze onto the melons.
  • Add a small bowl of tajin. IT’s delicious sprinkled on watermelon with lime. It’s optional.
  • Sprinkle with basil and mint and enjoy.
