That is until I saw the Mary-Kate and Ashley movie It Takes Two and there was a scene where the sister had Sloppy Joe’s for the first time and devoured it. Ever since my siblings and I saw the movie we begged for some and guess what? We devoured it just like to movie. LOL
This version is a cleaner simpler version packed with veggies and will support you during the Luteal Phase of your cycle. Since your energy will slowly start to decline and premenstrual symptoms may start to occur, eating warm balanced meals such as this one will help calm your energy. You make the Sloppy Joe mix and stuff them into a delicious baked sweet potato. Again, perfect for when you’re in your Luteal phase.
Here’s What You Need
- ground turkey
- gluten-free Worcestershire sauce
- red or green bell pepper
- onions
- 3 cloves garlic
- olive oil
- coconut sugar
- tomato sauce
- tomato paste
- coconut aminos
- apple cider vinegar
- pickles

Hormone-Healthy Turkey Sloppy Joe’s
Ingredients
- SWEET POTATOES
- 4 sweet potatoes halved
- 2 tbsp avocado oil
- TURKEY SLOPPY JOES
- 2 lbs ground turkey
- 3 tbsp avocado oil or olive oil
- 1 yellow onion minced
- 3 garlic cloves minced
- 1 red bell pepper diced
- 4 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 15 ounce tomato sauce
- 1 8 ounce tomato sauce
- 3 tbsp coconut sugar
- 1 tbsp coconut aminos
- 4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp paprika
- salt and pepper to taste
- sliced pickles for topping
- minced parsley for topping

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°
- Add the sweet potatoes skin-side up. Drizzle with avocado oil and bake for about 30 minutes.
- In a large skillet set to medium-low, add the oil, onions, bell pepper, and garlic and sautee with salt and pepper for about 5-6 minutes.
- Add in the ground turkey and break it apart until it's ground. Season with salt and pepper and cook until it's browned.
- Next, add the tomato paste and coconut sugar and stir well.
- Add in the tomato sauce, coconut aminos, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, paprika, salt, pepper. Mix and cover and cook for about 20 minutes. Adjust seasoning if needed.
- Add the mixture on top of the sweet potatoes.
- Top with vegan ranch and sliced pickles and parsley and enjoy!
