I am completely obsessed with this recipe. I’ve made it a few weeks in a row because it’s been requested weekly and for good reason my friends. It’s perfectly seasoned chicken thighs that are grilled to perfection and then smothered with a homemade honey Dijon sauce.
For the toppings, pickles, and melted American cheese. It’s truly perfect and so dang flavorful. It’s better for you Chick-fil-A. You’re welcome 🙂

- organic chicken thighs
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Salt and pepper
- Paprika
- Honey
- Dijon
- Apple cider vinegar
- Pickles
- American cheese
- Gluten-free burger buns, I prefer Rudis gf brioche buns
- Olive oil

Honey Dijon Chicken Burgers
Ingredients
- CHICKEN
- 6 organic chicken thighs fat trimmed
- 1 tbsp Garlic powder
- 1 tbsp Onion powder
- 1 tsp Paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for cooking
- HONEY MUSTARD SAUCE
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 1/2 cup Honey
- 1 ½ tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1/2 tsp Apple cider vinegar
- TOPPINGS
- Sliced Pickles
- 3 slices American cheese cut in half
- 6 Gluten free burger buns I prefer Rudis gluten-free 6 brioche buns
Instructions
- In a measuring cup, add all the honey mustard sauce ingredients and mix well. Set aside.
- Meanwhile, heat a cast iron skillet to medium heat. Add about 1 tbsp at a time of olive oil. Season chicken with all the chicken spices and mix well. Once the skillet is hot, add the chicken and cook for about 4-5 min per side. You may need to do them in batches.
- Add all the chicken back into the skillet and drizzle the honey mustard sauce on top. Reserve 1/4 of the sauce for topping. Spread the chicken evening in the skillet. Add the cheese. Put a lid on top for about 5 minutes until it’s melted.
- *you can also add the cast iron skillet into a 400° preheat oven (turned off) until the cheese melts.
- Serve with warm brioche bun, pickles, and more honey mustard sauce.
