Soup season couldn’t be complete without including a family favorite recipe which is this sausage soup. I found fresh gluten-free tortellini at Whole Foods in the refrigerated section and knew this soup had to be created.
This recipe takes 30 minutes or less and is packed with so much flavor. Trust me, your entire family is going to love this one.
Here’s What You Need
- gf tortellini or any gf pasta would work, I like Taste Republic. You can also sup for reg tortellini or pasta
- onion
- fennel
- Italian ground sausage
- carrots
- garlic
- diced tomatoes
- tomato sauce
- dried oregano
- dried fennel
- swiss chard
- chicken broth
- salt and pepper

Gluten-Free Sausage Tortellini Soup
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 yellow onion diced
- 3 carrots peeled and diced
- 1 fennel halved and sliced
- 4 garlic cloves sliced
- 1 lb ground Italian sausage
- 1 tbsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried fennel
- 1 14 oz can diced tomatoes
- 1 8 oz can tomato sauce
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 9 ounce package gluten-free tortellini, I like Taste Republic Brand
- 1/2 bunch swiss chard chopped
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat to medium/low. Add in the onions, carrots, fennel, and garlic. Cook for about 5-6 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Next, add in the sausage and cook through making sure to break it up good.
- Once the sausage is fully cooked, add in the dried oregano, fennel, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, broth and cook until it simmers.
- Once it’s simmering, add in the tortellini and swish chard. Cook for another 5-6 minutes (according to the tortellini package).
- Season with more salt and pepper and enjoy!
