But of course, I had to look up what was in them, and WOW…to no surprise, they are loaded with crap ingredients. I just knew that these were something I can make with better ingredients and still taste delicious. Let’s just say, the family agrees.

Here’s What You Need

  • pasture-raised eggs
  • full-fat organic cottage cheese
  • onion powder
  • garlic powder
  • salt
  • pepper
  • organic bacon
  • Gruyere cheese
  • chives

Bacon Gruyère Egg Bites

Ingredients
  

  • 8 pasture-raised eggs
  • 1 cup full fat cottage cheese
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup grated Gruyère cheese
  • 5 slices cooked bacon rough chopped
  • 2 tbsp minced chives
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°
  • In a large skillet set to medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy on both sides.
  • Meanwhile, in a blender, add the eggs, cottage cheese, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Blend well to incorporate everything.
  • Pour them evenly into a nonstick muffin pan. Then top with cheese, bacon, and chives.
  • Bake for about 20 minutes. Allow to cool and then store them in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
  • To reheat, place in a toaster oven or microwave.
