Armenian food is one of the freshest and healthiest foods out there. It’s very very similar to Greek food with a few minor herb differences. We use mint leaves instead of oregano in most of our cooking. But we have Dolma (stuffed grape leaves), Mousaka, eat Lamb for major holidays. If you’ve seen My Big Fat Greek Wedding, that is my entire Armenian family to a T. Food and culture are very similar and family is always #1. Today, I want to share a simple salad that is made for every family or friend function. I introduce to you the Armenian Salad.
This Armenian salad is a staple for practically every potluck, holiday, and friend/family function. It is also one of the most requested items (besides my mom’s baklava), that people want my mom to make. It’s an easy simple salad but packed with so many delicious flavors. Make this and you’ll see.
Feta cheese is a great addition to this salad as it balances to lemon citrus flavors with the salt from the feta. If you’re whole 30, paleo, vegan, then omit.
